What's happening in Mrs. Michlig's class this cold week in January?
Lots!
On Tuesday, January 22, Mrs. Johnson, strings teacher from the middle school, is giving the students a presentation. She will explain each of the instruments and allow the students to "play" them. She'll also talk with them about the middle school orchestra and the expectations and how to sign up if they are interested.
We also have D.A.R.E. class on Tuesday!
On Wednesday the fifth graders switch science teachers for third quarter. My class will have science with Mrs. Goetsch.
Oh, and, by the way...
there is a math test on Wednesday and a spelling test on Friday (check out the Spelling tab on my blog for the list).
In reading/language arts and social studies the students are doing a study of slavery in America. Along with learning about slavery, they are learning valuable reading/writing skills--finding the main idea, how to write a 5 paragraph essay, how to research online and how to take notes. It is a pretty big project, but an interesting time in our history, so the students are very excited and motivated.
